Robert Graham-a legend never aging

Taking fashion cues from his father’s love for beautifully tailored dress shirts, Robert Stock developed a deep appreciation for luxury style and sophisticated tailoring at a very early age. As a young man, Stock favored Saville Row style — an influence that continues to resonate in his designs today.

In the beginning of Stock’s extensive career in fashion design, he met and became friends with Ralph Lauren — a fellow fashion designer in the start of his career and fellow New York City native. A creative partnership was inevitable, and together they launched Ralph Lauren’s highly successful Chaps collection.

Shortly after his departure from the American classic designer, Stock created Country Roads by Robert Stock and became an award-winning fashion designer receiving a Coty Award for “Best American Sportswear Designer” and a prestigious Cutty Sark Award for “Leading American Men’s wear Designer.”

In 2000, Mr. Stock felt bored and uninspired by the garments that made up the men’s wear industry. He noticed there was a void in the market and quickly began developing a line that spoke to a niche in luxury men’s wear that craved pops of color and interesting, conversation-provoking pieces. In 2001, Stock launched Robert Graham — a line consisting of men’s sport shirts with a look he coined “American Eclectic.” That year, luxury specialty store Fred Segal was one of Robert Graham’s first customers.

Today, Robert Graham can be found in more than 1,200 premium retail locations globally; and the brand is proud of the re-launch of Robert Graham Women’s in fall 2011. Stock is still positioned at the helm of this rapidly growing, American fashion house as its founder, co-chairman and chief creative officer. He is married, has two children and resides in Connecticut.
