Set a decade after the events of Rise, the sequel finds most of humanity wiped out and the intelligent apes ruling over the world. As scientists struggle to find a cure for the virus and save the human race, the genetically-advanced chimpanzee Caesar (Serkis) attempts to maintain dominance over his kingdom.

Plot Summary
A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar (Andy Serkis) is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species. Oscar-winning visual effects house WETA Digital – employing a new generation of the cutting edge performance capture technologies developed for Rise of the Apes and Avatar – will again render photo-realistic, emotionally-engaging apes.
