First Trailer for Nazi Zombie Sequel ‘Dead Snow 2′

A little more than a week ago, twitch gave us a look at the first official poster for Dead Snow 2: Red vs Dead, the upcoming sequel to Norwegian director Tommy Wirkola’s (Kill Buljo, Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters) 2009 horror-comedy Dead Snow. Now thanks to dbtv.no we get to watch the film’s first trailer – not counting its crowdfunding trailer.

The original Dead Snow told the tale of a group of Norwegian students who take a trip to an isolated cabin (is there any other kind of cabin?) where, unfortunately for them, an army of dead Nazi soldiers rise from grave, and in typical zombie fashion begin taking bites out of the living. For a film with a premise some might call ridiculous (certainly not us, but some), Dead Snow was very well received – 65 percent on Rotten Tomatoes ain’t bad for Nazi-zombies. It’s main villain Standartenführer Herzog has even achieved a level of fame – an article on Wikipedia has got to mean something.

Five years later, Dead Snow 2 is set to premiere at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival, the same place the first one had its US premiere. Here’s the plot synopsis provided by Sundance:
If the worst day of your life consisted of accidentally killing your girlfriend with an axe, chain-sawing your own arm off, and watching in horror as your closest friends were devoured by a zombified Nazi battalion, you’d have to assume that things couldn’t get much worse. In Martin’s case, that was only the beginning.

Picking up immediately where the original left off, Dead Snow; Red vs. Dead wastes no time getting right to the gore-filled action, leaving a bloody trail of intestines in its wake. Director Tommy Wirkola returns to the helm with a vengeance, coming up with more inventive ways to maim and dismember than you ever thought possible. Combining wry humor with horrific worst-case scenarios, this follow-up to the 2009 Midnight classic is sure to shock the weak-of-heart and delight even the most hard-core fans of the horror genre. Colonel Herzog is back, and he is not to be f—– with.

Will the sequel deliver as many laughs and screams as the first one? Will it be as good as Viking Vampire?
