Given the film’s name, it’s clear who the Big Bad of The Avengers: Age of Ultron will be—the James Spader-voiced robot, Ultron. That said, news has broken that Ultron will not be the only villain testing the Avengers’ mettle in the 2015 sure-to-be blockbuster.

Yep, The Avengers: Age of Ultron has a second bad guy: HYDRA head Baron Wolfgang von Strucker.

In the comics, Strucker is a former Nazi who leads the forces of HYDRA against S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Avengers, and has been genetically altered in such a way that he is both seemingly ageless and unable to be killed. In The Avengers: Age of Ultron, he will be played Thomas Kretschmann (the Dracula TV series).

HitFix (via /Film), has the scoop as to how Baron Wolfgang von Strucker will appear in the film:
In “Age Of Ultron,” Baron Von Strucker is the initial threat, the guy they’re fighting at the start of the film. He does not have a major ongoing role in the film, but he is responsible for bringing Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch into contact with the Avengers in the first place, since they start the film working either with or for the Baron. If you look at this like a James Bond movie, Von Strucker’s the bad guy they’ll take care of in the pre-credits sequence before they move into the main story.

Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch have a complicated journey in this film, and the question of whether they’re good or bad is one of the big things driving the movie overall.

Further, while Strucker will apparently be defeated in The Avengers: Age of Ultron, Kretschmann has reportedly been signed for multiple films—perhaps, as in the comics, his defeat in Ultron will only be temporary.

The Avengers: Age of Ultron is set for a May 1, 2015 release date.
