Before We Saw the Trailer, We Thought: While a film about a blossoming romance between a woman and the doppelganger of her deceased husband may veer into the absurd, "The Face of Love," which premiered at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival, is interesting in that it offers the perspective of a woman who has already lived much of her life. Director-writer Arie Posin, who previously directed the relatively unseen and lackluster 2005 film "The Chumscrubber," about a sequence of events that occur in a small town following the death of a teenage drug dealer, returns with a more developed premise.

And Now? Four-time Oscar nominated actress Annette Bening, who last appeared in Sally Potter's moving "Ginger & Rosa," stars as a woman who has recently lost her husband (Ed Harris) of 30 years, the love of her life, as seen through flashback scenes at the beginning of the trailer. As a result, Bening's character is inconsolable and without purpose, barely living. That is, until she meets her husband's "double" (also Ed Harris) who slowly revives her, despite the resistance and confusion she faces from her family and friends.

The trailer is haunting, but hopeful, showing some wounds never completely heal when one loses a love, but how a second chance may always be around the corner -- even if it's a bizarre one.

The film doesn't have a set release date here, but was released in Spain back in October. IFC Films is distributing the film in the US.
