The federal government has created The American Job Center website to help job seekers and those in career transition access job and career information from one central location.The site offers broad access to job listings including links to state job banks, veterans job banks, federal government jobs and private jobs databases. In addition, users can access information on resume writing, interviewing, networking, job search and unemployment.

Researching Careers
The site features a tool for generating a list of career alternatives based on past jobs and skills. TheO*Net interest profile allows users to view a list of careers based on their key interests. Users can read profiles of occupations in the Explore Careers section and learn about the knowledge, skills and education required for entry as well as the job outlook for those fields.

The Youth section enables high school students to search for colleges and research careers by many factors including the highest paid fields, those in greatest demand and occupations with the largest number of jobs. Young people can also explore financial aid and military service options from the site.

Find a Job
The Find a Job section of the site provides access to job listings, skills evaluation tools and information on unemployment and other benefits. The America's Service Locator links users to unemployment and training resources. Users can also access listings of federal job centers and state job services in their local area from this section.
