American rapper Nicki Minaj has an off the wall sense of style. She makes a statement with her fashion and music. Of course her eccentric style has been carried through to her new fragrance Pink Friday. ThePink Friday perfume shares its name with Nicki Minaj’s 2010 and 2012 albums.

Today I spotted the crazy Nicki Minaj Pink Friday perfume bottle on the shelves in Myer. Its great to see it here in Australia in time for Christmas.

Pink Friday starts out very sweet and fruity. The fruit is fresh, juicy and sugary sweet. The scent is girly and fun. It stays sweet and fruity for quite a while and seems like a very simple girly perfume. But then the jasmine opens up and the fragrance becomes a bit more mature and serious. The jasmine is quite strong and lasts a long while. There is musk in the background and over time the delicious caramelised pear and vanilla become noticeable but by this stage the perfume is very light.

Pink Friday smells good at each stage but lacks continuity. You get sweet and girly followed by mature florals and then a light gourmand base. Pink Friday changes its fragrance style quicker than Nicki Minaj updates her look.
