Maybelline is an American makeup brand sold worldwide and owned by the French cosmetics giant, L'Oréal.Their slogan is Maybe she's born with it. Maybe it's Maybelline.  The Maybelline Company was created by New York chemist T.L. Williams in 1915.

Williams, in his early 30's noticed his younger sister applying a mixture of Vaseline and coal dust to her eyelashes to give them a darker, fuller look. He adapted it in his small laboratory and produced a product sold locally called lash-in-brow-line . The product was a local hit, but the awkward name held it back. His sister, who inspired the product, was named Maybel. So T.L. Williams renamed it Maybelline, a combination of Maybel and Vaseline. It is under this name that Maybelline has achieved its now legendary status in the field of cosmetics. In 1917 the company produced Maybelline CakeMascara, "the first modern eye cosmetic for everyday use" and Ultra Lash in the 1960s, which was the first mass-market automatic. Except for the make-up products the beauty products are also very chic. Just like the tapered brush. But do you know how to use a tapered brush?

Instructions
1Invest in a set of eyeshadow brushes. Look for a medium-sized brush (no bigger than the tip of your thumb) for the lid and a smaller, firmer brush for the crease of your eye. You can also use a thin eyeliner brush to apply a line of shadow near the lower lashes for a smoky look.

2Select an eyeshadow color combination. Think of colors that complement your skin tone or go for something that matches your outfit. Try to choose at least three colors of varying intensities that mesh together well.

3Use an eye primer. Use your fingertips to pat primer over the entire lid, leaving the upper area blank. A good primer helps to even out skin tone and it also helps to set eye shadow. If you can't afford a primer, use your foundation or concealer instead.

4Sweep the medium-sized brush across the lightest shade of eyeshadow. Tap the brush to remove excess powder. Run the brush from the lash line to the brow. Repeat as necessary to build color.

5Dip the contour brush in the next-darkest shade, and run it across the inside crease of the eyelid. Once you've applied the shadow, use the brush to smudge any harsh-looking lines.

6Take the medium brush and dip it in the accent color, the darkest of your three eye shadow colors. Apply shadow to the outer edge of the eye, making sure to blend toward the middle.

7Check your eyeshadow in direct sunlight if possible. Use the tip of your fingertip to diffuse areas with heavy shadow, or use the medium brush to soften any harsh lines.

8Using a large powder brush, lightly dust the eyelid to set your shadow and to create a natural look.
