The Nokia Theatre is a music and theatre venue located in downtown Los Angeles, California located atL.A. Live. It is sponsored byFinnish cellphone maker, Nokia.

History
The Nokia Theatre opened on October 18, 2007 with a concert featuringThe Eagles and The Dixie Chicks.

Events
The Nokia Theatre has become the venue for multiple award shows since its opening. The theatre has hosted the ESPY Awards since 2008 as well as the American Music Awards since 2007. The venue has been the home to thePrimetime Emmy Awards since 2008 and will continue to do so until at least 2018. The Nokia Theatre hosted the MTV Video Music Awards in 2010 and 2011. In 2008 and 2011, the venue hosted The GRAMMY Nominations Live concert where the nominees for the Grammy Awards were announced. The Grammy Awards take place annually across the street at the Staples Center. The Nokia Theatre has hosted the People's Choice Awards since 2010. It has also been used by Nintendomultiple times for press conferences during the E3 Expo. It is also the venue for the finale of American Idol since season seven.

Japanese vocaloid HatsuneMiku, made her US debut at the Nokia Theatre on July 2, 2011 during the 2011 Anime Expo in Los Angeles.

The 28th Annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductions was held at the Nokia Theatre on April 18, 2013.

The BET Awards are scheduled to move to the Nokia Theatre in 2013.
