Midland States Bank makes 6th acquisition in 6 years

Midland States Bancorp, which operates Midland States Bank, announced Tuesday it has acquired Grant Park Bancshares, which operates First National Bank in Grant Park, Ill., and branches in Beecher and Bourbonnais, Ill.

It's the bank's sixth acquisition in six years. Terms were not disclosed.

Midland States has 34 locations in Illinois, one in Chesterfield and one in Wisconsin.

First National Bank had assets of $105 million as of Dec. 31. Midland States, which is based in Effingham, had assets of $1.6 billion and wealth management assets under administration of $1 billion.

The deal is expected to close in the second quarter or early third quarter, bank officials said, after which time the First National Bank branches will operate under the Midland States name.
