Brady & Gisele Bündchen quietly got married in a small, private ceremony in Santa Monica, Calif., on Thursday, sources tell PEOPLE.

The New England Patriots quarterback and the Brazilian supermodel wed just before 6 p.m. at St. Monica Catholic Church, less than a mile from the beach. Brady's 1 ½ son, John Edward Thomas, was present at the wedding.

They followed the wedding with a small gathering at their Brentwood home.

Brady, 31, and Bündchen, 28, got engaged last month. "He asked and she accepted," a source close to the couple told PEOPLE at the time.

The is the first marriage for both.

Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady welcomed their new baby on Dec. 5 according to The Boston Globe on Dec. 7. This is the second child for Bundchen and Brady together, they also have a two year old son. Brady has another child from a previous relationship that is five years old.

The new baby girl was named Vivian Lake. Gisele, a supermodel, and Brady, a quarterback for the New England Patriots, also have another son named Benjamin Rein. Their first son together was delivered by a water birth. There have been no confirmations on whether this was a water birth as well. We do know the baby was delivered at home according to her Facebook post to her fans.

"Vivian Lake was born at home on Dec. 5. She is healthy and full of life. Thank you all for your support and well wishes. We wish you and your families many blessings."

Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady got married in February 2009 and had their first child together in December of 2009. Brady brought his son John Edward into his new marriage that he had with Bridget Moynahan.
