It consists of three retail formats that have become commonplace in the United States: Discount Stores, Supercenters, and Walmart Markets. Many of Discount Stores  and  Wal-Mart Supercenters also have a pharmacy. Walmart Market is a chain of grocery stores that average about 42,000 square feet (3,901.9 m2).They are used to fill the gap between discount store and supercenters, offering a variety of products, which include full lines of groceries, pharmaceuticals, health and beauty aids, photo developing services, and a limited selection of general merchandise.

Through its online pharmacy, customers are able to refill multiple prescriptions at once, set up auto refills and reminders and generate medical expense reports.

VIPPS
The VIPPS accreditation program (Verified Internet Pharmacy Practice Sites), is a strong indicator of an Internet pharmacy’s compliance with state and federal laws and regulations and NABP's criteria.

The VIPPS accreditation process provides for ongoing evaluation of an Internet pharmacy’s practice. Internet pharmacies function in much the same way as traditional pharmacies and are subject to the same rules, regulations, and patient care requirements as brick-and-mortar pharmacies.

Log onto https://vipps.nabp.net/verify.asp to check whether an online pharmacy is accredited by VIPPS.
