SCHOOL INFORMATION
We are a replication school modeled after the highly successful Icahn Charter School 1 located at Brook Avenue.  We will provide a world class, rigorous Core Knowledge curriculum, enabling all students to exceed the performance standards of the New York State Board of Regents.
 
We will have an extended school day as well as extended school year.  Our regular school day will begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m., with provision for after school programs. 
 
Icahn Charter School 2 is a public school that has been granted a charter from the Charter Schools Institute of the State University of New York and the New York State Board of Regents.  The school is not part of the Board of Education.  It is accountable to an independent Board of Trustees as well as the Board of Regents and the Charter Schools Institute.
 
With class size of eighteen (18) students and with two (2) classes per grade we will be better able to support our rigorous curriculum and work cooperatively with the families of our children to achieve high standards.
Icahn Charter School 2 is chartered by the New York State Board of Regents and the State University of New York Charter School Institute and is a result of the collaborative efforts of the Foundation for A Greater Opportunity and the Center for Educational Innovation-Public Education Association.  The Icahn Charter School 2 is a public school open to all children on a space available basis, by lottery.

 Kindergarten Lottery
Students will be admitted to Icahn Charter School #2 based on an open lottery system.  The application period begins  February 1, 2013 and ends Monday, April 1, 2013.  After 36 children are chosen by lottery, those children not selected by lottery will be placed on a waiting list, in the order in which the names were drawn in the lottery until all names are drawn.  Students will be considered enrolled in each successive year through completion of eight grade. 

Grade 1 - 8 Lottery 
Students will be admitted to Icahn Charter School #2, based on an open lottery system.  The application period begins February 1, 2013, and ends April 1, 2013.  Your child will then be entered into the lottery drawing. They will be placed on a waitlist.  Once a seat becomes available in the grade your child applied to, the office will contact you with enrollment details.
