Vitamin World Q-Sorb™ Coenzyme Q-10
As a supplement, Coenzyme Q-10 supports heart health.* Coenzyme Q-10 is a naturally occurring, fat-soluble antioxidant that appears in almost every cell in the body. Antioxidants play a role in fighting the cell-damaging effects of free radicals.* Free radicals can contribute to oxidative stress, which in turn may contribute to the premature aging of cells.
Q-Sorb™ is the trademark Vitamin World created to distinguish its product from CoQ10 supplements manufactured by other companies. The supplement maker describes its coenzyme as identical to the same substance found in the body. Q-Sorb™ also seems to refer to the type of soft gel cap that holds the coenzyme. The company says the gel capsule allows "rapid release and "superior absorption." Each pill contains 100 g CoQ10, a chemical compound that facilitates the production of the molecule adenosine triphosphate, a cell's strongest source of energy.
CoQ10 is also an antioxidant, a substance that gets rid of free radicals in the body. Free radicals form naturally as a byproduct of digestion. They also appear after you are exposed to toxins in the environment. Left to occupy the body, free radicals can damage cells and cause serious illnesses. The University of Maryland Medical Center says some studies indicate CoQ10 supplements may prevent and treat heart disease and heart failure, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes, as well as other medical conditions.
