美国国务院（英语：United States Department of State，有时亦用State Department），美国联邦政府主管外交并兼管部分内政事务的行政部门，直属美国政府管理的外事机构，相当于外交部，其行政负责人为国务卿。美国国务院为美国最庞大的官僚机构之一，位于美国首都华盛顿特区。现在的国务卿是康多莉扎•赖斯（Condoleezza Rice）。美国国务院于1789年9月由美国外交部改组而成 。在政府各部中居首席地位。
具体职责
主管美国在全世界的大使和领事网以及涉外官员的工作，协助总统同外国签订条约和协定，安排总统接见外国使节，就承认新国家或新政府向总统提供意见，掌管美国国印等。国务院的行政首长是国务卿，由总统任命 (经参议院同意)并对总统负责，是仅次于正、副总统的高级行政官员。国务卿对总统发布的某些文告有副署之责。
