Sports and real estate mogul Stan Kroenke is embroiled in a legal battle with Michael Staenberg, with whom Kroenke founded THF Realty in 1991. The company stood for "To Have Fun," but neither partner is having much these days as they attempt to separate their interests in the 20 million square foot shopping mall development company. The billionaire also has his Kroenke Group, which includes a separate, secretive real estate development company as well as self-storage company StorageMart. On the sports side, Kroenke has leveraged his shopping mall riches into ownership of the NBA's Denver Nuggets, the NHL's Colorado Avalanche, the NFL's St. Louis Rams, and the Premier League soccer club Arsenal. In November 2012, he paid $132 million for the Broken O Ranch, a 124,000-acre Montana farm, to his expansive property portfolio. His wife Ann Walton Kroenke is the niece of Wal-Mart founder Sam Walton and billionaire in her own right.
