Chamak by Priya Kakkar was started in April 2005 as a way to showcase her passion for jewelry. She is a New York based designer with roots in India. After graduating from New York's prestigious Fashion Institute of Technology she began her career working as senior account executive in the accessory departments of DKNY, Chanel USA and Burberry USA.

She remember as a young girl being fascinated in visiting India and spending time at the local bangle shops in the outskirts of New Delhi, trying on every bangle that was sold. It is consequently no surprise that her line of high end jewelry is strongly influenced by the rich and vibrant colors of India. By blending the lively traditional character of that land with modern sensitivity she try to fashion season after season a line of jewelry that gives the wearer something special - the Chamak personality.
