Design is a creative inheritance for Marcia Patmos. As a child, her grandmother taught her how to sew, knit, crochet and repurpose textiles. Marcia's interest and respect for craftsmanship was honed at the Rhode Island School of Design.

After working in the New York fashion industry for several years, Marcia and her friend Tina Lutz launched LUTZ & PATMOS, a timeless luxury collection of sweaters, separates and accessories that merged fashion with art and design. After ten successful years, Fall 2010 brought the final LUTZ & PATMOS collection.

The M.PATMOS collection continues to be motivated by art, architecture and design. Marcia captures ideas and inspiration on film and collects travel mementos, artwork and unique flea market finds as muses for new color palettes, seam shapes and construction techniques. Tapping artisan communities around the world enables Marcia to incorporate their incomparable handicrafts and techniques into her designs while supporting multiple families and sometimes whole villages. By mixing thoughtfully manufactured items with handmade details—and combining industrial processes and new technologies—Marcia creates modern, understated and comfortable wardrobe essentials. Whenever possible, socially conscious and eco-friendly production techniques are featured elements of her modern sensibility. The M.PATMOS collection is founded on the concepts of strength, grace and ease, realized through a singular personal style.
