Nothing's as permanent as a tattoo: It's over once again. Kat Von D and Jesse James have split for the second time, just weeks after they called their engagement back on. Distance was an issue in their July split (Von D is L.A-based, while James lives in Austin, Tex.).

We can't even count the number of times this tattoo artist and biker dude have broken up and gotten back together. They called their whirlwind engagement off at least twice -- over Twitter -- and as of early 2012 seem to be keeping their distance.
 
This tattooed ex-couple had been on and off for years. Kat Von D and Jesse James began dating in 2010. They got engaged in January 2011, then split in July 2011. The following month, their engagement was announced to be back on. In the following month, September 2011, they broke up again. Jesse James married his now-wife Alexis DeJoria, a professional drag racer. Kat Von D and Jesse James are still calling it quits...for now.
