Tempestuous actor Christian Bale has a reputation for throwing temper tantrums.

The latest outburst from the 39-year-old Batman actor comes from his refusal to accept a star on a Spanish style Hollywood Walk of Fame, where he is currently filming in Almeria.

Although local authorities are bowing down to his celebrity, acknowledging his presence in their town is enough, despite director Sir Ridley Scott proudly accepting his star.

Bale is at this moment shooting Exodus where he is playing Moses, a biblical film which follows the classic tale of the Israelites' departure from Egypt under the guidance of Moses, directed by Ridley Scott.

Provincial cultural chief of the town in South East Spain Maria Vazquez said:
'We've been told Mr Bale is very focused on his work, that he gets very involved in his characters and that while he's filming he doesn't do things that are not in his work schedule.'

However this is not the first time Bale's bad temper has been highlighted, infamously a clip surfaced of him spiraling into rage at a cinematographer who interrupted his scene whilst filming Terminator Salvation in July 2008.

His former personal assistant Harrison Cheung revealed that Bale cut off all contact with his mother and sister after an argument escalated on the eve of the premiere for 'The Dark Knight', which led to him being interviewed by police.

Despite his hot headed reputation Bale has gone on to receive over 40 awards, including an Academy Award and Golden Globe for his role in The Fighter and global reputation as a method actor.

Bale is currently staying in a villa with his wife and daughter a 25 minute drive away from the town, and has been reported saying he wants to 'concentrate on his day job.'

Director Ridley Scott was happy to recieve his star, which will be positioned next to the star of Egyption actor Omar Sharif of Lawrence of Arabia fame.

Almeria has proven a popular filming spot for Hollywood blockbusters, including Patton which won 7 Oscars and Bond movie Never say never again starring Sean Connery.
