At the beginning of this year, Steven Spielberg ("Minority Report") announced an indefinite postponement of his big-budget sci-fi adaptation of Robopocalypse. Based on the 2011 book by Daniel H. Wilson, Robopocalypse would have starred Chris Hemsworth ("The Avengers"), Anne Hathaway ("Interstellar"), and Ben Whishaw ("Skyfall"). The script was penned by Drew Goddard ("The Cabin in the Woods"). Why was production halted? Steven Spielberg's spokesman Marvin Levy said back in January that Robopocalypse was “too important and the script is not ready, and it’s too expensive to produce. Unofficial Synopsis - In the future, robots have been created to serve Mankind.
