It's not every day that someone turns 103, even in a city as big as Los Angeles.

So to recognize the 103rd birthday of Leon Saliba, city officials made an official street sign bearing his name.

The Los Angeles Times reports that Saliba was supposed to travel to 103rd street in the city's Watts neighborhood for a ceremony Thursday, but warm weather and bad traffic gave his daughter pause.

So the city councilman representing Saliba's neighborhood instead brought the street sign to his home.

The sign has Saliba's name printed below "103rd Street" in capital letters. Saliba was all smiles.

His city councilman, Tom LaBonge, quipped that he's unsure how to celebrate Saliba's 104th, "but I've got a year to figure it out."
