Joey Chestnut, the world's hot-dog eating champ, is a crossover king.

He set a new gut-busting record Sunday with New York City's other favorite food - pizza - by downing 45 slices in 10minutes at the Famous Famiglia pizza-eating contest in Times Square.

 "I might be on a liquid diet tonight," the 24-year-old San Jose, Calif., construction manager said through a grin.

He beat 10 other contenders, including the previous pizza-eating recordholder, with a technique that gives new meaning to the expression "fast food."
