Romney: minister of religion or divinity student

You have to be really, really rich to consider life in a French palace to be slumming.

Mitt Romney is really, really rich.

During the Vietnam War, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints declared him to be a "minister of religion or divinity student," protecting him from the draft.

And he spent his time on his mission in France... in what he considered to be meager accommodations.

But to other, less fortunate, missionaries, those same accommodations seemed lavish -- one described it as a "palace" with "stained glass windows (which scandalized the Mormon missionaries due to their depiction of a bare-breasted woman), chandeliers, massive bedrooms, a full-time chef, a houseboy, and yes -- a working bathroom," according to reports in the Daily Telegraph andNational Memo.

Must've been rough.
