Steven Alan (born 'Steven Alan Grossman') is an American fashion designer, and founder of the chain of Steven Alan boutiques and Steven Alan Collection, a heritage-inspired line of men's and women's casual wear. His designs and collections have gained critical attention from British Vogue, Teen Vogue, Nylon, New York magazine, the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, and others. The fashion-industry trade journal Women's Wear Daily has said that "Steven Alan has become a household name for hip consumers, including actresses Mary-Kate Olsen and Natalie Portman."

Opening his first New York retail store and showroom in 1994 to curate and retail the works of emerging designers, by 1999 Alan launched his own line of ready-to-wear standards, including his now-signature "Reverse Seam" button-down, chinos, and cotton dresses in colorful plaids, stripes and chambray. New York describes the collection as catering to those "looking for edgier versions of traditional garb."

In 2008, Steven Alan became a bi-coastal brand, having expanded beyond its six eponymous New York locations to introduce three shops in Southern California. On November 11, 2011, Mr. Alan opened his fourth West Coast and first San Francisco boutique in Hayes Valley. Mr. Alan has also designed collections for Urban Outfitters, the Japanese line Uniqlo, Keds shoes, and, more recently, a collection of khakis and sportswear for Dockers. According to his website, the Steven Alan Collection is now carried in over 300 stores worldwide.

On April 29, 2011, Women's Wear Daily reported that Steven Alan had sold a minority share in his company to former Fossil, Inc. CEO Tom Kartsotis. Kartsotis and a group of investors are acquiring American made fashion brands under the name Bedrock Manufacturing Corp.
