Karlie Kloss VS

In her short time as one of fashion’s most in-demand runway models, Karlie Kloss has worn just about everything. “I’ve walked in couture gowns, I’ve walked in ten-inch-high McQueen heels, I’ve walked in corsets and all sorts of unbelievable contraptions,” she said last night, while wrapped in a hot-pink satin robe as a hairstylist tugged at her waist-length brown hair with a curling iron. Around her, the backstage frenzy that precedes the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show at the Lexington Armory in New York City was on: hair dryers buzzing, photographers snapping away, crews of makeup artists tilting a chin this way or that, and models calling out to each other across makeshift makeup stations. For some, like Doutzen Kroes, Chanel Iman, and Miranda Kerr, it was an annual reunion—but for Kloss and fellow model Joan Smalls, the night was more of a coming-out party. Having conquered the fashion week runways (Chanel, Givenchy, Prada, Dior, and Rodarte, to name just a few), the pair was about to make their Victoria’s Secret debut—with those iconic 20-feet-wide wings heralding a worldwide arrival.Kloss, too, came of age in St. Louis, feeling admittedly awestruck by the Angels. “You know, as an American girl, you grow up with Victoria’s Secret show, and I remember watching Gisele and Tyra and Naomi and Heidi, and even many of the girls here today. The fact that I get to be a part of it is really cool!” she also featured the 2013 VS Spring-Summer collection and become the new face. Really cool.
