An Ohio county grand jury has indicted failed 2010 U.S. House candidate Tom Ganley on seven counts, including kidnapping and sexual imposition.

A woman who offered to volunteer for Ganley's campaign accused the Republican and auto dealer of propositioning her and groping her at his dealership.

She reported the incident to police Sept. 30, 2010, just over a month before the November election.

Ganley, the GOP nominee to challenge Democratic Rep. Betty Sutton, immediately blasted the charges as false and slanderous. He accused the woman of extortion and  charged that she was in cahoots with the Democratic party. His camp suggested Sutton was behind the scandal.

Ganley lost the general election the following month.

Since the first case was made public last fall, a second woman has come forward to accuse Ganley of sexual misconduct, but no charges have been filed in that case, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Ganley originally intended to run for U.S. Senate in 2010, but he decided in February of last year to drop his campaign and instead become a candidate for Sutton's House seat.

Ganley faces three felony charges of "gross sexual imposition," and one count each of kidnapping, abduction, solicitation, and menacing by stalking, according to news reports.
