It is the moment every romantic suitor dreads - meeting their partner's elders. So spare a thought for Simon Cowell who met Lauren Silverman's parents at the weekend.

The X Factor mogul, who is due to become a father for the first time, accompanied his pregnant girlfriend to dinner with her parents at a private residence in Miami, Florida.

Fortunately, it all seems to have gone well - with both men sharing a gentlemanly handshake and fraternal embrace as they parted ways.

Wearing his trademark white shirt with far-too-long bootcut jeans, Cowell appeared to have been inspired by '80s TV show Miami Vice for the evening, which lasted for more than four hours.

Perhaps Mr Silverman, Stephen Davis, had received the same style memo - as he also wore a white shirt, although his was kept outside of his black trousers and was trolled-up at the sleeves.

Taking the matching looks to another level, both Lauren and her father's partner wore strikingly similar black dresses to cap a synchronised ensemble.

Yet, regardless of the matching attire, the evening was clearly a personal success for Cowell.

Just a days later he was seem looking happy and at ease as he arrived at CBS Studios for another episode of X Factor USA.

Sporting a trademark white T-shirt and baggy, boot-cut jeans, the music mogul briskly shook hands with a production assistant outside the Hollywood studio before making his way inside for a taping of the beleaguered show.

Lauren’s blossoming baby bump was on full display beneath her figure hugging black dress as she clambered out of Cowell’s gleaming ride on a pair of strappy heels.

A source later told the Mirror that he publicly declared his verdict of Cowell, reportedly saying: 'I love him. The best... There's nobody like this guy.'

The mogul’s meeting with Lauren’s father comes amid reports that a divorce settlement filed by Lauren’s estranged husband Andrew Silverman warns him to stay away from their seven-year-old son Adam.

Should Cowell break the agreement, Lauren will reportedly be forced to pay her ex a £31,000 fine.

New York City businessman Andrew is allegedly so upset that former pal Cowell romanced his wife that he added a string of unusual clauses into his divorce papers.

Lauren has to make sure her son doesn't call Simon - who UsWeekly claimed this week has a ring and will propose to the Manhattanite next year - 'father,' while Andrew has to make sure the child doesn't call anyone but Lauren 'mother.'

TMZ also reports, 'The settlement agreement also provides Andrew cannot trash Simon to Adam and has a legal obligation to make sure no one else around him talks smack.'

Andrew is paying Lauren $3,000 a month in child support. The site speculates that 'Simon will become the cash cow.'
The British TV personality is reportedly worth $370m.
