Meryl Streep met her husband Don Gummer through her brother Harry, who was friends with Gummer. Gummer, was out of the country and Streep was staying at his apartment until he came back into town. Apparently, Gummer came back early and the two quickly fell in love. 

Gummer, a sculptor, and Streep have been married for more than 33 years and have four children together. 

When Streep won her third Oscar for "The Iron Lady," she gushed about Gummer during her acceptance speech. "Everything I value most in our lives, you've given me."
