  • "He proposed the next year [December 6, 1957] by slipping a huge, freshwater pearl and diamond ring into her champagne glass at Romanoff's restaurant. They married on December 28, 1957 in a formal, private ceremony in Scottsdale, Arizona, where Wagner's parents lived. They honeymooned with a train trip and then a week spent on R.J.'s boat, My Lady, off the coast of Catalina Island."

In February 1972, Robert and Natalie reconciled. They spent several months getting to know one another again before they announced they were getting married again.
Natalie: "I think we [R.J. and Natalie] realized there was still something between us."

Dressed in a gingham dress aboard The Ramblin' Rose, a borrowed yacht that was moored at Malibu in Paradise Cove, Natalie married Robert Wagner again on July 16, 1972.
The wedding date for their second marriage was chosen with the guidance of astrologer Carroll Righter. They only had a few friends and family in attendance. The wedding reception was a picnic.
 

Natalie: At the age of 43, Natalie Wood drowned near Santa Catalina Island on November 29, 1981. Her husband Robert Wagner and friend Christopher Walken were on their 60-foot yachtSplendour when she drowned. Her death was determined at the time to have been an accident.
Ted Thackrey Jr: "Los Angeles County lifeguards and sheriff's deputies said Miss Wood, 43, apparently drowned after falling overboard from an inflatable boat that we found beached near the body."
Coroner Thomas T. Norguchi: "It was not a homicide. It was not a suicide. It was an accident."
On November 18, 2011 detectives from Los Angeles County reopened the investigation into Natalie's drowning. In July 2012, TMZ reported "Natalie Wood's death certificate has been changed from 'Accident' to 'Undetermined.'"
In September 2012, CBS News reported finding "audio interviews with the actress’ younger sister, Lana, discussing what she knew of her death."
On January 14, 2013, a 10-page addendum to the 1981 autopsy of Natalie Wood was released. It did not alter the sheriff's department ongoing investigation into Wood's death. The new report revealed bruises that "could have occurred before she fell into the ocean."
