KATV Daybreak Anchorwoman Anne Pressly, 26 from Little Rock Arkansas was found Monday morning about a half hour before time for her to go to work by her mother. Anne’s mother tried calling her for her regular wake up call and when she didn’t get an answer she got worried and went to her apartment.

She was found lying on her bed and it was apparent she had been brutally beaten. She was taken to St. Vincent’s Infirmary Medical Center and after several days of fighting for her life she lost the battle and passed away. She had been beaten severely around the head, face and neck and was unable to talk to her family or the police because she was kept heavily sedated in the intensive care unit.

Anne Pressly’s parents Guy and Patti Cannady asked for privacy as they grieve for their daughter’s death in a statement that was released by the hospital. It states:

“We are profoundly saddened to tell you that our dear Anne has lost her struggle for life. It was our hope, as was yours, that Anne would overcome the injuries inflicted upon her in the brutal attack at her home. We were with her in her last moments, and although our hearts are broken, we are at the same time comforted by our faith knowing that Anne is now with our Heavenly Father.

The outpouring of compassion we have received is truly a testament to the way in which Anne has touched so many people in a positive way. Thank you for your prayers and your many acts of kindness. We are grateful for the wonderful care Anne received from her doctors, nurses and others at St. Vincent.

Our lives will not be the same without her. We ask that you continue to pray for us as we struggle to move forward without our dear sweet daughter. We also ask that you give us the privacy we need at this very difficult time.”

So far no suspects have been identified but detectives have searched the area around Pressly’s home. News reports have said that detectives found evidence that her credit card had been used Monday at a gas station near her home but that has not been verified.

My heart and prayers go to the family of Anne Pressly. I can only imagine what they are going through. My God be with Anne, the angels will be watching over her now.
