Bill Maher has long insisted he'd never marry. But he's so into his new young girlfriend, Cara Santa Maria, that he's telling friends he may break his own rule, according to a source.  Cara, who got her masters in neurobiology at 22, seems a  departure for 53-year-old Bill Maher, whose taste has run toward mocha beauties like centerfold Nancy “Coco” Johnson and “video vixen” Karrine Steffans.  Then again, Cara's Web site (carasantamaria.com) reveals she's also fond of piercing, fishnets and merry widows. Bill confirms to us that he and Cara are serious but cautions, “Neither one of us believes in God or marriage, so I guess a big church wedding is out.”

Actor/stand-up comedian/author, Bill Maher, best known as the host of HBO’s “Real Time With Bill Maher”, and his longtime girlfriend, Cara Santa Maria, have officially broken up after dating for more than two years.

 “They are taking time off as a couple and have decided to spend less time together,” an insider tells In Touch. “Bill can never stay with one woman for more than a few years. He always gets bored and just wants to go back to playing the field.”

Bill is player. He loves the love game. Although Bill and Cara might have discussed marriage a few times, their relationship just ran its course because he is not good with commitment. Oh, and Cara was not even his type!

Cara told InTouch, “Our breakup was mutual and amicable. We continue to be friends and work together.”

Bill said, “Breakups are always difficult, especially with an amazing person like Cara. I wish her nothing but the best, and remain committed to and excited by her career as a media science expert.”

Once a Playboy, always a Playboy. Bill Maher is 55 years old and he never got married, despite collecting relationships with beautiful and younger women. Bill proclaimed to be really happy about his bachelor status.
