The Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins was one of the first cancer centers in the country designated by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) as a Comprehensive Cancer Center.

The Kimmel Cancer Center provides expertise in the molecular genetics of cancer, bone marrow transplantation, new drug development, pediatric oncology, radiation oncology, brain tumor research and treatment, and esophageal cancer research, treatment and prevention. The Center encompasses a wide spectrum of specialty programs in breast, colon, melanoma, hematologic malignancies, and head and neck cancers. Additionally, those at high-risk for breast, ovarian, colon, and other cancers may seek information about early detection, prevention, and genetic counseling through a comprehensive genetics service.
