Anthony (Tony) Hunthausen Letter - dated 6 July 1989:

From: Anthony (Tony) Hunthausen, East Helena, Mont.

We could not have met in Co. F because I came into the unit about Jan. 10th, 1945. I think. I was only 18 years old at the time. I was the youngest man in the Company at the time. So young that many of my memories are like bad dreams and I havn't given much thought to them for some time either. I have a hard time recalling specifics but generally, I helped fight our way across Germany to the Elbe River, where the war ended for Co. F. (getting wounded once in the process). Because I was so young, I had to spend another year in occupation getting home on June 7, 1946. If you see Jim Hansen or Bob Herrick -- give them my best. I remember Jim, especially, he once saved my life and the life of others too.
