Construction is underway on a new luxury townhome development called Liberty Square at Wesmont Station in Wood-Ridge, N.J., according to a spokesperson for Pulte Homes, the developer of the project.

The 217 townhomes that will encompass Liberty Square are the next phase in the redevelopment of Wesmont Station, a 70-acre site that is being recast into a dynamic, mixed-use community by Somerset Development.

Matt Roesch, of Pulte Homes

As Matt Roesch, vice president of sales for Pulte Homes, told Commercial Property Executive, the townhomes will range in size from approximately 1,000 square feet to 2,200 square feet. “We haven’t finalized our overall pricing yet, but expect our base prices to start somewhere in the low- to mid-300’s,” an affordable price point that Roesch said sets the development apart from other housing options in Bergen County.

The two- and three-bedroom townhomes in Liberty Square will be part of a brand-new, pedestrian-friendly neighborhood within Wesmont Station that will include markets, restaurants, retail shops, gathering places and direct access to a new NJ TRANSIT train station, as well as easy access to the Garden State Parkway and Routes 3, 4, 17, 46 and 80.

These amenities are all signature features of the live-work-play concept that is transforming Wesmont Station into an exceptional place to live in Wood-Ridge, according to Ralph Zucker, president of Somerset Development.

AvalonBay Communities developed the first phase of Wesmont Station – a 406-unit luxury apartment complex, featuring 27,000 square feet of retail shops. Future developments will include single-family homes.

Headquartered in Lakewood, N.J., Somerset Development is a renowned residential and commercial developer, specializing in transit-oriented and brownfield redevelopment projects.
