Former First Daughter Chelsea Clinton (now an NBC correspondent and Oxford doctoral candidate) and hubby Marc Mezvinsky are in contract for a $10.5 million apartment at The Whitman, a newly launched condo building on Madison Square Park. Clinton is perhaps the only Ph.D candidate in the world who can afford an apartment that expensive (it must help that her husband is in finance), but hey, it is convenient for her to hop uptown to 30 Rock for work. It only went on the market a month ago, and the relatively small renovated building houses just four long, narrow full-floor apartments that are about 5,000 square feet a pop.

Clinton's new pad, which overlooks the park, is a 4BA/6.5BA with a home office and a den. Amenities in the intimate doorman building include a residents'-only gym plus an elevator secured by lock and key with private landings on each floor. The 33-year-old, who was a history major at Stanford, must like that the building itself, 21 East 26th Street, was originally built in 1924. Last week, according to the Post, parents Bill and Hillary took a look around and even posed for photos with building workers.
