Peanut/Nut Aware Environment at Lois Lenski Elementary
USINFO | 2014-01-07 14:13
In 2013-2014 the kindergarten through fifth grade classes, and K+ Enrichment at Lois Lenski Elementary School are designated peanut/nut aware environments. This is necessary because there are students in these classes with very serious life-threatening peanut/nut allergies and anaphylaxis (severe and sometimes fatal systemic reaction). The following measures are being implemented in the classes.
Parents, staff and students in the kindergarten through fifth grade classes are asking to refrain from sending or eating peanuts/nuts or food items containing peanuts/nuts during school.
Students will be monitored to ensure that there is no sharing of food.
Students will be monitored for washing hands before and after eating.
Information on safe foods and safety measures for the peanut/nut aware environment will be provided for students, parents and staff.
Thank you for your cooperation in helping us strive to keep these classes of the 2013-2014 school year safe for all of our kids.
