Started in 1939 by parents from the recently closed privately owned Damon School, the school is currently a preeminent institution for boy's education in San Francisco. Headmaster Brewster Ely frequently addresses his peers and is well respected nationally. The community of approximately 400 boys is divided into 18 classes, two classes in each grade.
