SAT Reasoning Test - What to Bring to the Testing Center
USINFO | 2014-01-02 14:30

To be admitted into the SAT Reasoning Test, you must bring an admission ticket and a government-issued or school-issued photo ID to the testing center on the day of the exam. You may print your admission ticket online or receive an admission ticket by mail if you submit a paper copy of the registration form.

If you have not received an admission ticket prior to the SAT Reasoning Test, you may still be admitted to the testing center and allowed to take the exam if the name on your identification is on the registration roster. If you do not have an admission ticket and the name as it appears on your ID does not match a name on the registration roster, you will not be allowed to take the exam. It is also important to note that the testing center may refuse to allow an individual to take the exam if that individual has an admission ticket but has no acceptable form of ID.

Four-function calculators, graphing calculators, and scientific calculators are allowed for the mathematics portion of the SAT, but they will not be provided by the testing center. Therefore, it is a good idea for each exam-taker to bring his or her own calculator to the exam. The exam-taker should also bring at least two number 2 pencils, a soft eraser, food and/or beverages for scheduled breaks (in a bag or backpack), extra calculator batteries, and a watch.

Electronic devices other than those mentioned above are prohibited. Prohibited devices include such items as cameras, cell phones, laptops, MP3 players, pagers, PDAs, pocket organizers, tape recorders, timers other than watches, watches with audible alarms, and any other similar devices that can potentially disrupt other individuals taking the exam or which can potentially be used to bring information in or out of the testing center. Each exam-taker is also prohibited from bringing into the testing center any paper or items other than the permitted devices mentioned above. Additional prohibited items include, but are not limited to, books, colored pencils, dictionaries, highlighters, notebooks, protractors, rulers, scrap paper, and other similar instruments or testing aids.
