GRE Study Materials:Books, Softwares Used to Score 1380

I got 1380 :: 590 (verbal) and 790 (Quant)
I had to postpone my test from September to December because I was getting low mock test scores(around 1100-1200). So, I delayed my test and it helped me to score quite good marks.
My experience was almost the same as that of other HSB fans but I got to know two new facts about GRE.
GRE Tips
I don’t know if anybody else has experienced such thing. BUT most of the questions that I and my fellow test takers got, were same. I saw their questions while going through the room during the breaks. One of them got 1020 and I got 1380, and we got same set of questions.
So, I can say that there is no such thing that if your answer is correct then you will get more difficult questions ahead i.e. the test in not ADAPTIVE. As the scores we got were very different.
The Quant section was little different than the questions in Barrons , NOVA, Kaplan etc. Do practice the “Practice Questions” from the POWERPREP software. Fortunately, I saw them on the last day, they were very helpful. I even got a question of Parabola and 2 questions regarding Standard Deviation, but simple plugging-in helped for me. So, I suggest fellow test takers to at least have a look at these topics.

I used following material for preparation.
1.Barron’s GRE for verbal and quant.
2.GRE 10th edition book for practicing tests. (That I got with Princeton Review Material in 2008.)
3.I had no benefit by taking their prep course of 8 weeks. All you have to do is by yourself. They can’t tell you how to learn words. And, the tactics for solving Maths questions are futile and senseless for an engineering student. Even the course material is very low standard as the of GRE.
4.GRE Big Book. The questions are really on par with the level of questions of actual test. (Same as that of GRE 10th edition)
5.ARCO’s GRE (from Petersons) for AWA section. (They have about 200 answers for the actual GRE essays of the question Bankavailable on GRE website)
6.Top 9 GRE Test Prep Books

●KAPLAN( for verbal)
●NOVA (for complete mocktests) – Review of Nova Math Prep Course Book
●Vocas (for Synonyms, Antonyms and Analogies)
●Gre Bible (for complete tests. Most of the questions are from the BIG BOOK)
●WordFlash (for quickly reviewing the words of different segments i.e. easy, difficult, double difficult & high frequency words.
●POWERPREP (I scored 1210 in first test and 1250 in the second one) But “Practice questions” section was really helpful.
I just bought 2 Books and rest of the material was available online on different websites for free. But I wasted a LOT of time in finding them.
