NASCAR speeds into town March 6-9 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, but there's plenty of action happening elsewhere in town for race fans.

REO Speedwagon, March 8

Fremont Street Experience is one of the best spots in Las Vegas to catch a free show – especially one that allows you to see a band of REO Speedwagon's caliber. As part of the three-day 11th Annual Race Jam 2014, which includes NASCAR-themed booths and other free performances, the iconic band plays March 8 at 9 p.m. on the Third Street Stage. Be prepared to jam along to your favorite hits such as Can't Fight This Feeling and Keep on Loving You.

Crazy Horse III

If you don't feel like making it out to the Speedway, from March 7-9 gentleman's club Crazy Horse III has the next best seats in town. The club will show all the race day action on a dozen high-definition TV screens, and at night, will host a different type of action. Race day ticketholders also receive a complimentary drink. Happy hours – but what hour isn't a happy one here – are from noon to 8 p.m., with buckets of four Budweiser or Bud Light bottles for $20. And if you need a ride, Crazy Horse III may be able to send a limo to pick you up.

Tacos & Tequila at Luxor

Watching the races from Luxor is easy at Tacos & Tequila, thanks to a multitude of flat screen TVs around the modern Mexican restaurant, as well as an order of High Octane nachos, a Coors Light and a shot of Jose Cuervo tequila, all for $15. The race day-inspired nachos include tri-colored habañero cheese sauce, spicy mini albondigas or Mexican meatballs, jalapeño wheels, pit pico, black beans and guacamole. Buckets of a six-pack of Coors Light will run you $25 during race week.

Cabo Wabo Cantina at Planet Hollywood

Sammy Hagar's restaurant and live music venue welcomes race fans to NASCAR viewing parties with food and drink specials from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. March 6-9. Fuel up with tacos el carbon, with either grilled chicken or steak, topped with salsa over fresh tortillas, or cheese fries loaded with bacon, jalapenos and ranch dressing. Fire and Ice, or a shot of Fireball whiskey and a bottle of Dos Equis or Tecate, go for $8.50, while Cabo Wabo margaritas set you back only $6.

Minus5 Ice Bar at Mandalay Bay and Monte Carlo

During NASCAR weekend, on March 8 and 9, Las Vegas' ice bars get in on the action. If you want to take a little break from the races, and drink some vodka, don a parka and some gloves and cool down in Minus5's bar carved completely from ice. Purchase the two cocktail package and you'll get to sport a Minus5 baseball cap to help keep you warm.
